Managing Director

Managing Director (MD)

The company is the director responsible for the day-to day running of a company. Second in the hierarchy only to the *chairman, if there is one, the managing director is the company’s *chief executive, a title that is becoming increasingly popular in both the USA and the UK. In the USA, the*president is often the equivalent of the MD. If a company has more than one MD, they are known as joint managing directors.
